Lazy Lagoon Island Lodge Lazy Lagoon lies in the Zanzibar Channel offshore from mainland Bagamoyo, the capital of German East Africa. Not only can it boast nine kilometers of deserted beach but it is also a natural reserve home to many small mammals, mangrove trees and patches of indigenous forest. Food served at Lazy Lagoon is abundant and varied. Breakfast is a choice of eggs prepared to your order, accompanied by sausage, beans and tomato, or pancakes and syrup, or oatmeal. Fresh bread, buns, juice, tea and coffee are also served. Lunch is a two-course meal prepared to your order. Dinner is three-course menu with a variety of seafood, meat and vegetarian dishes.

The lodges is managed by the Fox family and with their Africa experience they have made this a relaxed, unpretentious camp with a cozy feel. Game activities at Vuma concentrate mainly on open-topped 4x4 game drives however it is possible, dependent on season, to take a walking safari to the source of the Kikoboga River, or daily guided wildlife excursions and culture tours to the nearby villages.
Game drives are conducted in Mikumi National Park and day visits to nearby Udzungwa Mountains National Park can be organized in advance.
Foxes Safari CampFoxes Safari Camp is one the small and personalized camps in Mikumi. It is set up on a rocky kopje on the Mkata flood plain, which presides over the best game viewing area of the park, the Mwanamboga Waterhole.
Not only is Mikumi National Park a great place for getting your eye in on game drives but it is also a fantastically colorful place. The open grasslands stretching out before you change through the spectrum of orange and yellows throughout the day. There are high concentrations of game with large herds of Nyasa Blue Wildebeest, buffalo, impala, zebra and giraffe. Where there are large herds, there are always plenty of predators waiting for a meal.
Foxes Safari Camp has eight custom designed tents raised on wooden platforms sited around the rock kopje overlooking the floodplain. The exclusive camping African style, combines creature comforts with the real bush experience; ideal for those wishing to be in the thick of it immersed amongst the wildlife. All tents come with mosquito nets, ensuite bathroom facilities and a private verandah built on a slope with panoramic view of the plains and hillsides.
At Foxes Safari Camp you can also find a culinary and Dining Experience, meal arrangements include Choice of full English or Continental breakfast; Lunch is a cold buffet guest close the day with a three-course dinner with vegetarian option together with tea and coffee facilities.

This luxury tented camp in Mikumi National Park is operated by the Fox family and brings together there 40 years of experience in the Tanzanian tourism industry. The camp is attractively set on a granite outcrop overlooking the Mwanambogo waterhole and Mkapa floodplain in a good wildlife-viewing area in Mikumi’s far north.
The Safari Camp is the most intimate lodge in Mikumi, with only 8 large, thatched custom-built tents. The tents all have two double beds and are ensuite. Each tent is hidden amongst the kopjes (granite boulders) and the main dining boma and bar area is on the kopje-top.
We feel this is the only camp in the park which offers a true bush experience. Being 14 km from the main road traffic noise is not a problem like at some of the other camps in Mikumi and game viewing is of a high standard.
